China International Trademark Festival is the largest and most renowned feast in the field of trademark every year. On the evening of October 27, 2016, the welcome meeting of China Trademark Festival 2016 (CTF2016) was ceremoniously held in Kunshan International Conference and Exhibition Center. More than 1000 persons attended the welcome meeting, including leaders of relevant ministries, State Administration for Industry & Commerce of China, and local administrative authorities for industry & commerce as well as market supervision departments, officials from the WIPO and foreign intellectual property departments, officials of the USPTO and relevant foreign trademark associations, home and aboard well-known IP experts, home and aboard renowned brand economists, guests from enterprises and trademark agencies home and abroad, and famous medias.

 
In order to commend advanced persons who have made prominent contributions in trademark brand strategy, the China Trademark Association (CTA) organized some experts to form a jury and evaluated “2016 Trademark Leading Figures”. Totally 46 TM big names were chosen. Among them, 27 persons come from TM agencies, and Qixue WEI, the chairman of Linda LIU Group, is the very first man who was awarded this honor. Mr. WEI has devoted himself to IP industry since 1979 and is still active in IP business even at an age over seventy years. In nearly 40 years, as a predecessor in the IP industry in China who has very high attainments in theoretical knowledge and rich practical experience, Mr. WEI has not only took part in legislation and revision work of laws such as trademark law, patent law, technology contract law but also been active in home or oversea large-scale IP conferences held by government institutions or social associations. Mr. WEI has made an important contribution in improving and perfecting the Chinese IP laws and in helping the Chinese brands to be international, and a great contribution to the China’s intellectual property state-building strategy. Meanwhile, being a public-spirited person, Mr. WEI has so far served as a part-time professor of Japan Kogakuin University, Kokushikan University and the Intellectual Property Academy of Renmin University of China, and contributed his efforts to intellectual property communication between China and Japan and cultivation of China’s IP talents. Mr. Wei is worthy of the name of “Trademark Leading Figure” awarded this time, and he is richly deserved this reputation.

Mr. Wei said this honor was a reaffirmation of his active efforts in China’s intellectual property industry for many years. In future, Mr. Wei will continue to guide the Linda LIU Group and make due contributions to help China’s national brands to find a foothold in China and to march to the world, and to help the protection and promotion of foreign brands in China.
